So, at SAN a few of the Southwest Airline gates have a different security check in area from the rest of the terminal. Due to delays for the flight before us going out of the same gate, we had a gate switch. Given the line was especially long at the security check-in, they decided to just have us walk the outside route to the new gate. We had an escort for our gate change (obviously), but you don't get to walk around the nose of a plane every day...
